Country bread old dough + sourdough starter+ yeast For a deeper and more complex flavour. I like making bread for my meals because I want to eat healthily. Being able to control what goes into my food is always a good thing, especially since commercially produced bread often contains artificial additives. Making my own bread allows me to choose the ingredients myself and enjoy fresher, more wholesome food.

Chuseok (秋夕), celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar, is one of Korea’s most important traditional holidays. Its name literally means “autumn evening.” Korea remained an agrarian society for much of its history, and Chuseok has traditionally been a time to give thanks for the year’s harvest and to wish for continued abundance and prosperity. Although many Korean families still observe Chuseok through traditional customs, I have decided to celebrate the occasion in my own way, as I have a foreign husband: by making two desserts that capture the spirit of autumn’s abundance. Pumpkin pie and apple pie. Pumpkins and apples are both familiar ingredients associated with autumn in Korea, and desserts made with these ingredients are also closely associated with the autumn and harvest season in other parts of the world, particularly North America. I am always grateful that advances in science and technology have enabled far more people than in the past to enjoy greater abundance and variety in their diets. May famine and poverty continue to decline, and may abundance and prosperity always prevail.🖖 Happy Chuseok. 🌕
Manakish jibneh and zaatar This is so called pie in English, but actually it is more like pizza. Jibneh means cheese, And Zaatar is the mixture of spices, herbs and olive oil. Pizza dough is home-made with sourdough. A true foodie should know the value of homemade food.
Stuffed Squid Jeon – Squid Sundae Jeon – 오징어순대전 Pimpinella Jeon – Pimpinella Pancake – 참나물전 Lamb Kimchi Stew – 양고기 김치찌개 Stuffed squid is one of the famous foods from Gangwon-do, especially Sokcho. It is made by stuffing squid with a mixture of rice and seafood, giving it a shape similar to a sausage. That is why it is called sundae. Sundae is a type of traditional Korean sausage made by stuffing various ingredients into an edible casing. In this case, the squid itself is used as the casing. So, in Korean, it is called 오징어순대 (ojingeo sundae), literally meaning “squid sundae.” I’ll post the original sundae later whenever I get a chance to try it.😉 If the stuffed squid is coated in egg and pan-fried, it can also be made into 오징어순대전 (squid sundae jeon). This is where jeon comes in. In Korean cuisine, jeon refers to foods that are coated with ingredients such as flour and egg and then pan-fried in oil. Although jeon is often translated as “Korean pancake,” it is not exactly the same as a Western-style pancake. There are many different kinds of jeon, and they are often named after their main ingredient. For example, 파전 (pajeon) is made mainly with green onions, while 참나물전 (chamnamul jeon) is made with pimpinella, a Korean herb. So, when you see a Korean dish ending in jeon, the word usually tells you that the food has been pan-fried in this style, while the word before jeon tells you its main ingredient.
